A browser gets in here by one rule: its developer has no portable build that updates itself. Vivaldi and Cent are left out for exactly that reason — they already have one. The program downloads, unpacks and assembles a browser, then keeps it updated: nothing is installed into Windows, installers are taken apart rather than run. Chromium-Gost earns its place separately — it speaks GOST TLS, which Russian government portals require.
Use Chrome only? Chrome Portable is simpler — the same thing for a single browser.

Built here and — most importantly — updated with a single button: packed into an archive and made portable through the two best-known tools for the job.
There is no portable build of Chrome: there is an installer and there is auto-update, but no folder you can carry away. This program assembles one itself, then keeps it updated, keeps Chrome++ fresh, and can place the Russian root certificates inside — so government sites open without wrestling with the Windows store.

Yandex ships no portable build; this program assembles one and keeps it current. Nothing is written to the registry, and deleting the folder removes the browser. A separate benefit: the Russian root certificates are already inside, so government portals open right away.

Updating by hand means removing the driver, replacing the files and not losing your settings; by the third time it wears thin. Here it is one command: if the folder is next to it, it gets updated; if not, it gets installed from scratch. Nothing is asked, and after the update the domain lists are still yours.

Nobody cleans Windows here with a handful of checkboxes, and nobody argues with telemetry. What happens here is the work that usually takes a dozen consoles: WSL, virtualisation, network adapters and Wi-Fi, hosts, file associations, driver and NVIDIA policy, SSH keys and certificates. Every action goes through a documented Windows mechanism — DISM, bcdedit, netsh, wsl.exe — rather than edits to protected registry branches. Anything risky is backed up first, each button states its risk, and everything is visible in a live log.

An unusual way to copy and mirror data across disks, network shares and cloud storage: through presets and masks. Archiving of many sources at once, and RClone in a window rather than a console.
A network drive that has dropped looks to the system like an ordinary empty folder — and a mirror will faithfully wipe everything in the target. Not here: both roots must hold an anchor file, and without it the run does not start. Deleted files can be moved to a timestamped quarantine instead of disappearing; every operation has a dry run and a ceiling on how much it may remove. Files can be compared by size and date, or by hash — up to a strict mode that does not trust even a matching timestamp.
Any route will do: a local disk, an external one, a network share, S3, SFTP, cloud storage over OAuth. Terabytes never have to be pulled inside the program, and the engine for a given pair is picked for you — Robocopy for folders and shares, RClone for clouds and hash comparison — and named in the window before the start, so an impossible pair shows up before the first byte moves. Sending many small files is rescued by packing on the fly: 24 MB/s in a single archive against 0.46 MB/s file by file, measured.
The interface does not stand in for the commands: it composes them, shows them in full and runs them — the console core remains the source of truth.

The device's main drawback is that you cannot set it up quickly for yourself: either click through the vendor's program, or settle for someone else's presets. This kit and any LLM remove the problem — all you need is imagination: describe what each dial should do, and get a file ready for import.
It works because the project ships with a full description of the format: the container, the control table, the action encoding, all 47 slots, each entry marked as confirmed or inferred. You can verify it without trusting anyone: the assembled file reads back byte for byte, and an invented control name raises an error rather than a silent substitution.

An address is the worst thing to reconcile tables by — and simultaneously the only thing present in most municipal data. The same building in two exports looks like «г. Сургут, ул. Ленина, д. 12» and «Сургут, Ленина 12»; «пр-т Мира, 5к1» and «проспект Мира, дом 5, корпус 1». Matching on exact equality yields ten per cent of hits; matching by eye costs an hour per hundred rows and produces mistakes nobody notices.
A row looks for its pair first by exact equality, then by parsed components, then by a normalised fingerprint, and only then approximately. The order is not arbitrary: a strict match never loses to a loose one — otherwise a similar string from the neighbouring district would outrank the correct one.
The program aligns tables against a reference address column, assembles clean addresses from spreadsheets, Word and ODT documents, plain text, CSV, markup and PDF with a text layer, maintains a reference directory with slots — postal index, municipality, settlement, street, building, territory code — and sorts it by a chosen hierarchy.

Install PowerShell quickly, or update older versions — and skip turning on the settings that make it open from the right-click menu.
The PowerShell 7 package can do more than a default installation switches on: the «Open here» and «Run with PowerShell» entries, the PATH entry, the event log, updates through Microsoft Update, telemetry off, remote interaction. These property names are not invented — they are read out of the package itself. The kit installs a fresh version with all of that and carries the terminal settings across. For people who are not installing PowerShell for the first time and are tired of finishing the job by hand.

Installs the official python.org distribution for all users and into a folder of its own rather than Program Files — where every package install runs into an elevation prompt. Total Commander itself is not here and is not modified: only our own travels — panels, menus, colours, scripts, configs — and lands on a fresh program as a whole. If the manager is not installed yet, the kit fetches it from the developer's site itself: the installer is read directly, without third-party unpackers. For anyone who wants to hand a colleague their working setup rather than a build with someone else's files inside.

Portable and self-updating: plugins are installed by your own choice in a single press, and their IDs are all you need. It installs a fresh build with every option of the wizard and configures it right away — no questions about trusting folders. The portable copy is assembled separately: with Claude and Codex, with all four agents, or with none at all.
A portable VS Code does not update itself, by the developers' decision: an update would replace the folder along with the settings. Here a separate command does it — it changes the program and leaves the data alone.
